Canadian Black Scientists Network
What does being part of this organization or program mean to you?
Being a part of CBSN means helping to empower and increase the representation of Black Canadians in STEM, while contributing to spaces where they feel celebrated and acknowledged. Through initiatives and programs such as the BE-STEMM event, and Mentorship Program, it allows me to actively support community-building and contribute to opportunities celebrating the work currently being done in the field.
What part of attending the 2026 Youth Summit and Expo are you most excited about?
I am excited to connect with other youth who are passionate about making an impact in STEM, as well as to learn from the panelists by listening to their experiences and insights. I'm especially excited to gain a deeper understanding of how the STEM field has evolved and how it will continue to grow in the years ahead.
What excites you about STEM?
The versatility of STEM is what excites me the most. I have a strong interest in mental health and psychology, so I am especially curious about how innovations in STEM can lead to improved and more accessible treatment approaches, especially when it comes to neurodivergence. I am also eager to learn how mental health research can become more inclusive, culturally responsive, and representative of equity-deserving populations.
Fun fact about me:
A fun fact about me is that I love all things music and am currently learning how to play the bass.
