Canadian Black Scientists Network
What does being part of this organization or program mean to you?
Being a black Canadian in science means a lot because it allows me to be the representation I didn’t always see growing up. By taking up space in labs and lecture halls, I’m not just pursuing my own curiosity; I’m helping to redefine what a scientist looks like for the generation coming up behind me.
What part of attending the 2026 Youth Summit and Expo are you most excited about?
Getting to learn and develop new skills.
What excites you about STEM?
I am excited by the transition from simply learning facts to discovering new knowledge. Now that I’m in my fourth year, I’m eager to apply my background in physical chemistry and statistics to medical research. I’m particularly curious about how chemical principles can be applied in clinical settings to solve women’s health issues, which is why I’m looking to gain more experience in a hospital research environment.
Fun fact about me:
I am a part of 2 dance groups!
