Farah Bastien is a data and technology leader with nearly a decade of experience driving innovation in professional sports. As former Director of R&D & Digital at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), she led 30+ person data science and engineering teams across the Toronto Raptors, Maple Leafs, TFC, and Argonauts. Farah founded SportsX, the first innovation lab in professional sports, and spearheaded AI and computer vision initiatives including athlete biomechanics analysis and performance optimization tools.
Farah holds a Master’s in Analytics from Queen’s University and has been recognized as one of WXN Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women. She currently serves as Head of Data Strategy & MEL at Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, where she leads research on the value of sport to Canadian youth, and is the founder of Watch Her Win, Canada’s first discovery platform for women’s sports.
