STARLab (Space Technology and Advanced Research Laboratory), founded by Dr. Philip Ferguson, is a research lab focused on making aerospace technology more accessible, trustworthy, and impactful for real communities. Drawing on experience from major space missions such as Canadarm2, RADARSAT, and NEOSSat, STARLab develops innovative testbeds, verification methods, and AI-driven tools to bridge the gap between research and real-world use. Working closely with communities—especially in northern and remote regions—STARLab co-creates solutions using drones, spacecraft, rovers, and related technologies to address challenges in climate monitoring, connectivity, search and rescue, and environmental protection.
